  9. I don't live in Canada. How is the payment of the deposit and the balance handled?

After we have cashed your deposit cheque in a currency other  than Canadian dollars, we will let you know how much it was in Canadian funds and what the balance is. This is what you will pay - in Canadian funds - when you arrive and pick up  the key.

The week of ... seems to be available. Can I rent the house and what are the next steps?

We might already have a provisional reservation for the week you want. We will tell you when you ask. If the house is available we will ask you for a deposit cheque. After we cashed the cheque, the reservation is final, and it will be entered into the availability calendar.

I saw that there is a permanent resident? I would need to know more exactly what that entails before we would commit. Is this person totally keeping to themselves in their own room, or apartment, or do we have to share the kitchen, bathrooms, etc?

Our permanent resident, who acts as our house sitter because we are in Germany a lot of the time, has separate living quarters above the garage plus one bedroom above the main part of the house. He has a separate entrance, separate bath and kitchen etc.

I am interested in possibly renting the week of .... Is that week available, or do you allow shorter rental periods (such as 3 days)?

In the summer we only rent the house for full weeks - from Saturday to Saturday. During the rest of the year you can rent the house for weekends. For prices please go to our info page. For availability please check our availability calendar.

Why do you not allow pets in your house?

Keeping pets out helps us create an allergy friendly environment. Besides that - our house is new and when we ask people if their pets are well trained: what answer do you expect? But in many yards with dogs you find what we do not want our child guests to stumble over  the week after a dog has been there.
